Do you know that feeling? that anxiousness and exhilaration you get when you find the book that you can't put down, that TV show or movie series you HAVE to keep watching, that new song that you HAVE to listen to over and over again. That's the feeling I want for everything I do.

An archaeologist adventurer attempting to experience life off the beaten track. Since 3 or 4 years old I have wanted to be an archaeologist, and I finally officially achieved that dream when I earned my bachelor's degree in archaeology from UC San Diego with a minor in marine science. While taking a study abroad course in London some of the other students and I visited the Maritime Museum in Greenwich where I had an epiphany telling me to work in maritime archaeology.

Since then I have earned my Master's of Arts in Archaeology from the University of Otago in Aotearoa (New Zealand), worked for NOAA in the Chesapeake Bay, finished a year of PhD course work in Hawai`i, and got two new archaeology jobs.

 

I have taken field courses in Mexico and Guatemala, and done fieldwork in Menorca, Spain (maritime archaeology), Gotland, Sweden, Tuahata in the Marquesas Islands, Oahu, Hawai`i and Guam.

 

Though I'm no longer pursuing a PhD, I am continuing to research and write. And, of course, continue travelling around the world to have incredible experiences and share them through accessible and educational writing and photography.
